There are three courses at this level Design, Painting and Repair & Restoration. At this stage we are introducing you to professional skills at a professional level so proficiency in basic stained glass craft skills must have been assessed either through undertaking assessment in the Refine your technique course or by Recognition of Prior learning. Stained Glass Master Class - Design
$800

In this 16 hour course you will be introduced to the knowledge and techniques required for designing period and contemporary stained glass. You will cover the history of architecture, art and design relevant to stained glass design in Australia as well as the current building codes applicable to the industry.

You will complete a personal project with a subject matter of your own choice under the guidance of our Mastercraftsman, Sean Hardingham. This project will be undertaken using hand drafting/ drawing techniques. Students will also be breifly introduced to CAD design for stained glass. 

Stained Glass Master class - Painting

Students will learn the basic skills, materials, tools and methods of traditional stained glass painting whilst undertaking a small personal project in this ambitious 16 hour course. Students will be taught to select appropriate glass for their work and be required to undertake the cutting and preparation of their glass for painting. The proficiency you have gained in your fundamental stained glass technique will be put this test as you now focus your attention on the additional dimension of painting and staining.
 
 
Stained Glass Master class – Repair & Restoration
$800
 
Repair and Restoration was rightly to be taught at the Certificate IV and Diploma level in a proposed AQF accredited training for the industry. It is not until you have gained a range of knowledge and skills in the basic construction of stained glass and leadlights that you are able to grasp the complexities of high quality repair and restoration.
This course introduces a range of types of repairs and techniques (current and historical). This course places repair and restoration within the context of building, art and architecture from legislative implications and requirements to debates on methodologies.
