Renaissance Stained Glass
Stained Glass > Gallery > Arts & Crafts (1880-1920)

Somewhere between 1880 and 1920 , almost in direct response to the new industrial era, the focus came back to handmade/ original / unreplicable items. This movement is by default represented in the medium of stained glass as it has never become mechanized or mass produced on any level – it can’t be. In terms of design it reflects the natural, non synthetic and organic. The flowers in this example demonstrate a more lifelike, less impressionistic representation, together with the strong lines and almost Gothic details typical in other media of this time.
